Sydney Water is very proud of the Streamwatch program. We care about the health of rivers and streams and have integrated a number of programs into our business to improve water quality in rivers and streams, which are further supported by water monitoring programs.

We reviewed the focus of Streamwatch during the development of our new education strategy. The new strategy refocuses resources and broadens programs around the whole managed water cycle. The goal of the strategy is to increase our reach into the 1,500 schools within our area of operations. 

We greatly value the Streamwatch program and are currently in negotiations with a science and education institution to provide ongoing support to Streamwatch community programs. Sydney Water will provide an initial three years funding support to the organisation to implement the program.
